Images speak louder than words

I'm going to keep this post short and let the impressive satellite images do most of the talking. Frances strengthened yesterday and is a dangerous Category 4 Hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph. Landfall will most likely occur between Miami Beach and Charleston, SC. My educated guess (and that's all it is) is that landfall will occur near Ft. Lauderdale late Saturday. But if you look at the Hurricane Center's track forecast, you'll see there's a large area where landfall could plausibly occur. I still don't care to speculate about whether she'll significantly affect the DC area (she'll certainly affect us in some fashion even if just indirectly) except to say there's a possibility, but not a high probability. I'll provide more detailed info in upcoming posts.
