Winter Weather Advisory Issued

Jason Samenow @ 8:19 PM

***8:20pm update***
Currently in NW Washington: 37 degrees, cloudy
Discussion: Last night I forecasted little or no snow accumulation (or less than 1"). It's become increasingly likely that there will be no snow accumulation from this storm. Zip. Nada. Winds are steady out of the south and temps range from the upper 30s to around 40. Most of the precipitation to our south and west is liquid. This particular event will go down as a "nothing-burger."

***9:20am update***
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our entire area. Here's the relevant text from the advisory:
SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING THE EARLY EVENING...BEFORE MIXING WITH SLEET AROUND MIDNIGHT...AND BEGINNING TO CHANGE TO ALL RAIN BY MORNING. TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED...WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FROM THE DISTRICT NORTHWARD.
I disagree with this forecast (scroll down to the post beneath Kevin's awesome picture for an explanation and snowfall map) and expect generally less than 1" of snow accumulation.

I will try and post an update between 6 and 8pm. In the mean time, feel free to comment if anything is happening where you live or if you just want to discuss the forecast.
