Holiday Fireworks

Steve Scolnik @ 11:30 PM

The line of storms which plowed through Ohio Thursday afternoon dissipated before reaching the DC area, but a new area forming ahead of the cold front moving eastward promises to bring a threat of thunderstorms late today or this evening. There is a slight chance (15%) that some thunderstorms may be severe, with gusty winds and hail. Highs today will be around 90 with a 50% chance of showers. Lows tonight will be in the low 70s with decreasing humidity. The holiday weekend looks great, with highs in the mid 80s on Saturday, low 80s on Sunday, and comfortable humidity.

The Nats should have sunny and comfortable weather for their game with the Cubs this afternoon in Chicago.

We'll have an update later this morning with a beach forecast and outlook for the fireworks on the Fourth.
