Unstable, unsettled and underwhelming...
For the first day of the
Cherry Blossom festival, the weather is going to be a bit disconcerting and perhaps a bit disruptive. Some improvement is likely on Sunday -- hence it should be the better of the two weekend days.
Weekend Forecast
Today, a cold upper level low will swing through the region, triggering occasional showers and possibly
graupel and snow flurries (particularly in the high spots north and west). Given the cloud cover and intermittent precipitation, temperatures should only reach the mid to high 40s.
Because any precipitation will be scattered and intermittent, I don't think conditions will be inclement enough to cancel the
Kite Festival. Assuming it's not precipitating, flying conditions should be decent, with a north breeze of 10-15mph.
Overnight, an evening shower or snow flurry is possible, after which it should remain cloudy and cold with lows in the mid 30s.
On
Sunday, some peeks of sun are likely to break through the clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures should be a bit warmer than Saturday, with highs in the low to mid 50s.
