Clear Skies -- A Spectacular Spring Weekend

Jason Samenow @ 7:30 AM

A tremendous weekend is on tap thanks to cool high pressure to our north -- blocking any inclement weather from approaching the area.

Today

Absolutely Picture Perfect. After a chilly start (frosty in the cold spots), full sunshine will allow temperatures to warm from the mid 40s (mid to upper 30s in the north and west suburbs) into the upper 60s. It will be beautiful in Charlottesville for the Foxfield Races and in DC for Hands on DC's 12th Annual Worth-a-thon -- both of which Camden profiled yesterday.

Today and Tomorrow, National Weather Service Open House: The Sterling Weather Service office will be offering tours today and tomorrow. The weekend will include weather balloon releases, tours of the forecast office, children's activities and more.

Sunday

Beautiful, again. Sunday looks like a carbon copy of today. Brilliant sunshine and azure blue skies will be the rule. A mild afternoon will follow a crisp morning -- with highs 65-70 after lows from 38-43. Harriers can expect excellent running conditions at the Sally Mae 10K, with temperatures rising from the mid 40s into the 50s. Protesters attending The Rally to Stop Genocide will be treated to ideal conditions with temperatures in the 60s.
