A Hot Father's Day

Jason Samenow @ 8:05 AM

Happy Father's Day. Be prepared for summer-like heat and humidity.

Today

Forecast Confidence: Very HighHot and humid. A Bermuda high will help steer in warm, juicy air from the south and southwest. High temperatures will reach the low 90s, and it will feel as hot as the mid to upper 90s. The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement about today's heat and reminds folks that:
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS TO DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS. WATER IS YOUR BEST CHOICE AS IT PREVENTS DEHYDRATION. CONSIDER TAKING IT EASY OR TAKING FREQUENT BREAKS IN THE SHADE DURING THE AFTERNOON SUN. SEEK AN AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENT DURING THE HOTTEST PART OF THE DAY. WEAR LIGHT COLORED...LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING.
Dulles Airport's record high of 93 could be threatened -- but records will not be reached at the other airports.
