Sunny & Seasonable Through the Weekend
Steamy Weather Returns Next Week

Josh Larson @ 8:00 AM

We'll look for a very pleasant stretch of weather over the next several days, with abundant sunshine, seasonable high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, and modest humidity levels. However, heat (read: 90s) and humidity look to make a return for at least the first half of next week.

Today

Forecast Confidence: MediumAbundant sunshine. Very nice Thursday weather is on tap for today, with abundant sunshine, low humidity levels and highs primarily in the mid 80s. A pleasant northwest breeze of 10-15mph will punctuate the day's conditions. Clear and comfortable overnight, with lows in the mid 60s.

Friday

Forecast Confidence: MediumMostly sunny & pleasant. Expect quite similar weather to today on Friday with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Clear and pleasant overnight, with lows ranging from the low to mid 60s in most spots.

The Weekend

Confidence: High-Very HighMore of the same! I can promise you that the weather this weekend will be better than last weekend's unexpectedly cloudy, cool weather. We'll look for nearly the same conditions on Saturday and Sunday as we'll experience today and Friday: mostly sunny skies, modest levels of humidity, and seasonable temperatures in the mid to upper 80s during the afternoon hours and dropping to the mid to upper 60s overnight.

Pattern Overview

While the next several days' weather will be quite pleasant for late June, it doesn't look like this respite from more offensive heat and humidity will last much longer than the weekend. By Monday, a strong ridge of high pressure will build to our southeast, allowing for southwesterly flow over our area similar to that which produced the heat and humidity earlier this week. There are some indications that by late Wednesday or Thursday a cold front may push through, dialing back down the heat and humidity somewhat.

LARSON'S LONG-RANGE

Next week's forecast
Forecast highs/lows: 93/72 (normal = 86/68)
Forecast precip: Below normal

Forecast Confidence: High-Very HighExpect an increase in heat and humidity on Monday, with mostly sunny skies and highs likely creeping into the lower 90s; we'll have muggy overnight lows at or above 70. Tuesday looks even warmer, with a blend of clouds and sun and high temperatures spiking to the mid to upper 90s under high humidity. A cold front might push through late on Wednesday but not before we see steamy afternoon highs again in the mid to upper 90s; late day showers and storms cannot be ruled out. The forecast for Thursday and Friday is rather uncertain due to how quickly the cold front moves through the area. I'll call for partly to mostly cloudy conditions and a 50/50 shot at showers or thunderstorms both days, with high temperatures ranging from 85-90 and overnight lows near 70.
