Christmas will be uneventful weather wise, but chances of rain will be an issue through the rest of the week into the weekend.

Christmas Day


Forecast Confidence: HighIncreasing Clouds, Mild. Perhaps not the ideal weather to celebrate Christmas, it will be dry and mild. It will start out sunny with some increasing cloudiness late in the day. Highs will be in the low 50s. Overnight it will be cloudy with lows in the low to mid 30s. There is a slight (20%) chance of rain in our far southern and eastern suburbs as we approach dawn.

Wednesday


Forecast Confidence: MediumShowers?, Cooler. An approaching coastal storm from the south may graze us with some rain (40%) on Wednesday, especially south and east of town. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 40s. Overnight, skies will clear with low temperatures in the low 30s.

Thursday


Forecast Confidence: MediumSunny, Mild. Thursday will be quite nice for late December. Expect sunny skies with afternoon highs in the low to mid 50s. Overnight, clouds will be on the increase with lows in the mid 30s.

A Look Ahead


  • On Friday a weak storm system will cut west of the Appalachians and bring with it a chance of rain (40%), especially in the afternoon.
  • Over the weekend Saturday will be nice with a slight chance of a shower (20%) and highs in the low 50s. On Sunday another coastal system will approach from the south and bring a chance of rain (40%) with highs in the mid to upper 40s.
