Showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon, and they will probably produce very heavy rain in many areas. There is also a slight risk of strong winds with these storms.
If anything noteworthy is happening where you live, feel free to comment.
(As an aside, a severe weather outbreak is possible in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa later today. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has placed those areas under moderate risk of severe storms, and tornadoes and large hail are possible there. It will be an interesting situation to watch unfold this afternoon.)
