Stormy Memorial day...Tornado Watch Issued DC South and East

Jason Samenow @ 7:00 AM

Strong front moving through today. Storms will affect the area between 10am and 2pm with heavy rain likely. The storms will also be capable of producing strong winds and isolated tornadoes. Quite a bit of spin in the atmosphere today.

The bit of good news is that most of the bad weather may be through by late afternoon and early evening.

If severe weather is happening, I may post again later.

**Update (11:25am)**
A line of showers has already moved through and there is a break in the action. A few storms could pop up later (esp S&E), but the severe threat is somewhat diminished in our area.

**Update (3:55pm)** NWS Issues Tornado Watch

The warm front has come through, the sun has peaked out and things are destabilizing a bit. Severe storms capable of producing tornadoes may develop, especially south and east of DC.
