Just last night I had lamented the inevitable increase in humidity. But as I walked home from work today, I thought to myself a touch of humidity can be nice.

Humidity, in moderation, can be a good thing. While cool, crisp air is invigorating, it's nice to step outside on a balmy evening and feel substance and depth in the night air.

Ultimately humidity is about tolerance and thresholds. At some point, it can become too much, especially for the unacclimated. Last Thursday's ridiculous dewpoints surely tested the spirits of many Washingtonians. But one could argue humidity builds character. New Orleans, one of the most humid places in the U.S., has as much character as any place I've visited. Not so humid Southern California on the other hand...
