Clear sailing ahead...

Josh Larson @ 4:15 PM

It's late afternoon Saturday, and cloudy to mostly cloudy skies still cover much of the region, with scattered showers lingering over the southeastern third of the DC area - the result of a cold front passing through the area. However, the visible satellite shows significant clearing taking place not far to our north and west - behind the cold front - and I believe that the skies will begin to clear by mid evening (from northwest to southeast), with drier air beginning to filter into the region. As an added bonus, low temperatures Saturday night (in the low to mid 60s) will be some 10-15 degrees cooler, and much more comfortable, than Friday's lows.

Sunday will be a splendid day, with abundant sunshine, a light breeze, comfortable humidity levels, and highs in the low 80's. Quite nice on Sunday night, too, with pleasant lows in the low to mid 60's. Enjoy!

Update: At 7pm skies are now partly or mostly clear across the much of the DC metro area.
