Numerous warnings in effect, and Bonnie

Jason Samenow @ 8:12 PM

A flood warning is in effect until 12:30am for most of the area.

Prince Georges County is under a severe thunderstorm warning now (until 10:15pm).

Anne Arundel County is under a tornado warning now (until 9:45pm).

Warnings by category for the region can be obtained here.

Much of this severe weather is a result of a strong front to our west coupled with a surge of tropical moisture from the south.

What about Bonnie...? She has been downgraded to a tropical depression and is presently over the state of South Carolina, racing to the northeast. What will she mean for us...? A continuation of rain overnight, with some of it heavy. Many areas have already received nearly two inches of rain. For totals from the 4Winds AWS network, click here. An additional 1-2 inches of rain is possible as Bonnie moves through.
