A Toasty Friday and a Toast to the Weekend...

Jason Samenow @ 11:39 PM

Today may be one of the warmest days of the summer with highs in the lower 90s. Factor in the humidity and it will feel close to 100. Just like the past couple days, a 25-30% chance of late afternoon or evening thunderstorms. The few that form may be strong.

wineglassA lot going on this weekend, most notably the annual Virginia Wine Festival. Sunday, by far, looks to be the better day for that. On Saturday, a cold front will move through bringing a pretty high likelihood of showers and storms (also not good news for those going to see John Mayer, Maroon 5 and DJ Logic at Nissan Pavillion Saturday). [Having said that, it will not be a washout and the morning to early afternoon should be dry, albeit humid] Sunday, on the other hand, looks like a picture perfect day with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and high temperatures near 80. Just remember, per my July 26 post (scroll down when you get there), to avoid the 2003 Chardonnays and Cabernets (from VA).

"Nunc est bibendum!"

(Impress me and other CapitalWeather readers by translating this Latin phrase and identifying the author in the comment section. I'll be even more impressed if you don't have to 'Google' it.)
