Forecast First: Expect variably cloudy skies today, with just a slight chance of a showers/t'storms. It will remain warm and humid, with highs in the low 80s.

Yesterday's tornadoes: The remnants of Hurricane Frances spawned several weak tornadoes in some of DC's outlying areas. See this Washington Post article for details.

Ivan the Terrible: Hurricane Ivan is a very intense and very dangerous Category 4 storm, that may reach Cat 5 levels today. Josh provides an excellent analysis of where Ivan may go in the post preceding this. My gut tells me, unfortunately, things don't look good for Florida.
