Weekend and Pigskin Forecast

Beginning today and lasting through Sunday, expect superb weather. Expect light winds, warm, sunny days (highs near 80 with comfortable humidity) and pleasant evenings (lows 60-65). Check DCist, OnTapOnline and the Washington Post Weekend section for activity ideas.

From Blacksburg to College Park, lots of games going on this weekend and the weather looks terrific across the board.

Starting in southwest VA, in Blacksburg, the Virginia Tech Hokies take on Western Michigan at 1pm on Saturday. Picture perfect football weather with temperatures in the mid 70s during the game under mostly sunny skies and a light NE wind. Score prediction: Hokies 28, Western Michigan 10


Heading northeast to Charlottesville, the Virginia Cavaliers host North Carolina in the South's oldest rivalry. Look for temps within a few degrees of 80 during the game with comfortable humidity and light NE winds. Score prediction: 'Hoos 45, 'Heels 17



Another couple of hours to the north and east, the Maryland Terps will faceoff against the Temple Owls in Byrd Stadium at 6pm. Temperatures should fall from the mid 70s to around 70 during the game with winds mostly calm. Score prediction: Terps 31, Owls 9


On Sunday, the Skins kickoff their season against Tampa Bay at 1pm at Fed Ex Field. Temperatures will be in the low 80s during the game with light northwesterly winds. Humidity will be comfortable. Score prediction: Skins 21, Bucs 7
