Last night's lunar eclipse...

Kevin Ambrose and I viewed last night's eclipse from the U.S. Naval Observatory in Northwest, DC -- as part of an outing of the DC Chapter of the American Meteorological Society. Skies were clear until about 9:30pm when altocumulus approached from the west. By the time of total eclipse at 10:23, the sky was obscured.

Kevin took some good pictures of the eclipse as the clouds were moving in (shown below).

(By the way, today's weather should be mostly cloudy, with highs near 60. I'll have the full Halloween weekend forecast in tomorrow's post)
