Fall: Gone with the wind...

Photo by Kevin AmbroseDecember 1 marks the beginning of meteorological winter and as today wears on, it will begin feeling more like it. A cold front moves through this morning, with showers ending during the morning commute. By late morning the winds will really kick up (the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the area), and temperatures will be steady or slowly falling in the afternoon from the 50s into the 40s. For what it's worth, AccuWeather puts us on the edge of below average temperatures in its December outlook.

In other news, yesterday was the last day of hurricane season, and as a fitting end to an active season, Tropical Storm Otto formed way out in the Atlantic. Forecasters with the Tropical Prediction Center predict Otto will die a quick death as (meteorological) winter commences, dissipating to a remnant low within a few days.
