Happy July 4th!!

Matt Ross @ 12:00 AM

Forecast

After some morning fog, the sun should peek through a bit in the afternoon and highs will reach 80-85 degrees. For the fireworks tonight, conditions will be partly to mostly cloudy, but dry. Not ideal conditions for viewing the fireworks, but temperatures should be fairly pleasant, holding in the upper 70s. It should be a markedly nicer day than last year which had over 2 inches of rain, and 2002 which hit 99 hot and muggy degrees.

June Recap

While June had a lot of ups and downs, overall it was a fairly unremarkable month. It finished at 75.7 degrees or 1.2 degrees above normal, making it the 22nd warmest out of the 64 years since the official recording station moved to Reagan National Airport. It also featured seven days at 90 degrees or higher. Over the last 30 summers, July featured more 90 degree days than June, 26 times, so get ready for some traditional DC summer heat.
