HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 6 PM EDT TODAY

After some morning fog, the sun is going to break through by mid morning, as high pressure builds in. Southwesterly winds will tap hot and very humid air, making for a pretty oppressive afternoon.
High temperatures today should be 90-95, with heat indices from 98-104. If you're headed to to the
Virginia Wine Festival, make sure you drink some water with your wine to stay hydrated.
Tomorrow, the long awaited cold front will move through in the morning. Since it will be coming through prior to most of the day time heating, thunderstorms chances will be reduced (to about 25%). High temperatures should be in the mid to upper 80s, with humidity dropping late in the afternoon and evening.

Tropical UpdateThe remnants of Tropical Depression 10 continue to drift westward northeast of Puerto Rico. I would still watch
this area for possible redevelopment.
Of note: there are indications that the tropics may become more active next week as some strong waves emerge off the coast of Africa and conditions in the Atlantic become more favorable for development.
