We have another great day on tap. Expect plenty of sunshine and a touch of humidity with highs 82-85. Weather should be decent for the
Arlington Police/Fire/Sheriff 5k Race at 6pm -- with temperatures near 80. It's also looking good for the
Alexandria Arts Festival and
Prince George's County Fair. For additional event ideas, checkout

Tropical UpdateAs of the 11am update, Ophelia is a hurricane again, albeit a minimal one. All indications are that she we will now make landfall in South Carolina, most likely Monday night. I think gradual strengthening will continue, but I don't anticipate Ophelia will get any stronger than a Category 2 Hurricane before making landfall.
I think Charleston, SC is the most likely location of landfall, but here are my strike probabilities (within 30 miles or so of these locations):
Jacksonville Beach, FL: 10%
Savanah, GA/Hilton Head, SC: 20%
Charleston, SC: 30%
Myrtle Beach, SC/Wilmington, NC: 20%
Cape Hatteras, NC: 10%
Other: 10%
There's a pretty good chance that the remnants of Ophelia will bring rain to our area Tuesday night into Wednesday, breaking the spell of dry weather.
TV Weather Update: Tom Sater and Tony Perkins in the newsDCRTV.net reports FOX 5's morning weatherman Tom Sater has officially been fired from the station and that FOX is wooing Good Morning America's Tony Perkins as his replacement. However, DCRTV also understands ABC7 is also interested in Perkins. As for Sater, DCRTV hears he has split with his wife, FOX5 anchor Holly Morris, but remains in the area and is working as a meteorologist outside of television. We're going to try to bring you more on this situation in the coming weeks. There's likely more to this story.
