High pressure to our northeast will keep us under easterly flow through the early afternoon. Later this afternoon, the winds should shift to southerly, which may allow for a few breaks in the overcast. High temperatures should be in the upper 70s. All in all, a pretty nice day.
In other news, some forecast models predict the remnants of Rita will be steered back into the Gulf of Mexico and AccuWeather is
highlighting this possibility on its website. However, the more likely scenario is that remnants of Rita are swept eastward by a strong front that will move through our area Monday night. This may finally bring us some measurable rain. More details on that tomorrow...
