Welcome to the Beautiful Month of October Edition

Jason Samenow @ 11:14 PM

Simply put, it's a picture perfect day today. After a chilly start in the 40s to low 50s, temperatures will climb into the mid 70s. Lots of outdoor events happening today including Taste Bethesda , an Oktoberfest in Germantown, the Dulles Day Family Festival and the Fall for Fairfax Fair.

Even though I ripped AccuWeather yesterday, we are an AccuWeather partner and I do appreciate their graphics, as in the one above.

Snow in October?

Yes, it can snow in DC in October. A quick look through Bob Ryan's almanac reveals DC recorded 0.3" from a storm on October 10, 1979 whereas up to 10" fell in the Blue Ridge. DC's earliest first inch of snow fell on October 20, 1940. MarylandWeather.com writes it last snowed in Baltimore 26 years ago (also on October 10, 1979) and snowed 2.5" there on October 30, 1920.
