Turkey Holiday: Going Out Like Lamb

Steve Scolnik @ 11:45 AM

A Thanksgiving holiday which blew in on light snow and unseasonably cold winds had Washington area residents heading for the wood pile. (One of the advantages of the dead-tree media over the online version is that their product can be used as kindling.) Following the brisk start, however, the weekend is going out like a lamb. After the official low this morning of 27, which was still 10 degrees below normal, temperatures were rebounding nicely into the upper 30s by mid morning, heading for highs in the upper 40s under sunny skies.

Tonight, lows will be in the mid 30s in town, near 30 in the 'burbs. Sunday will bring a return of seasonable temperatures in the mid 50s with increasing clouds in the afternoon.

Tropics: Road to Morocco

In the tropics, Delta continues to weaken to minimal tropical storm intensity at 40 mph. It will become extratropical in the next couple of days as it heads northeastward toward the coast of Morocco.
