Warming trend?

Jason Samenow @ 7:46 AM

Yesterday, the weather was exactly how it normally is on January 8 -- when the average high is 42 and the average low 28. Today will be about 9 degrees warmer in the afternoon than yesterday as temperatures edge closer to average (average high is 56). We should see highs of around 50 degrees under sunny skies after a cold start ranging from around 20 in the colder suburbs to 27 degrees downtown. Generally speaking, it's looking like a delightful, crisp late fall day.

The warming trend continues tomorrow when highs reach the upper 50s, with lows in the mid 30s downtown and near 30 in the colder suburbs.

Commentary: During this period there will be a couple of chances to see flakes. As Tuesday's storm departs (a rain maker), there could be some flurry activity on the back side overnight into Wednesday morning (chance 20%). The better chance of snow will be on Thanksgiving day and night as a fairly strong clipper swings through the area. (chance 40%)
