Christmas Eve and Redskins Gameday Edition

Today's weather simply is going to be outstanding. If you're Christmas shopping is done, it could be a rare December day on the golf links. Temperatures should get well into the 50s with some 60 degree readings in a few locations. I'll call for a high of 56 at Reagan National and 58 at Dulles today under partly cloudy skies and a light south wind. For fun, go ahead and comment and indicate how warm you think it will get at these locales. Our exclusive Redskins Gamecast is at the bottom of this post.Christmas Day will bring rain, beginning around noon and lasting into the evening. Though rainy, it looks mild with highs near 50.

- On Weather.com's Blog, Senior Meteorologist Stu Ostro writes the 17th St. levy in New Orleans may have been breached before Katrina's eye even came ashore. I find this shocking. It implies the levy system could not even withstand pre-Category 3 storm conditions much less Category 4 or 5 effects, and recall New Orleans didn't even bear the brunt of the storm surge (coastal Mississippi bore it).
