A Sunny New Year's Eve Eve

A. Camden Walker @ 2:02 AM

Forecast: Fantastic

Breezy with otherwise seasonably mild weather today with highs in the upper 40s. Abundant sunshine will keep your spirits high this Friday, like last. A good end to the week (to bad the calendar year doesn't end today)! Broken clouds are possible in the early morning and late afternoon, however. Breezes will be from the NW direction and so I issue my usual windbreaker advisory, with lows in the 30s at dawn

Holiday Party Conditions: Midnight looks to be dry!...

We here at Capital Weather will keep you apprised as to the rain situation tomorrow afternoon. Don't let it dampen your New Year's Eve spirits; however, any precipitation that falls will be light & spotty. Perhaps as early as dinner time the chance of precip will be eliminated. Even if it doesn't look too heavy it will dampen holiday commuting through early afternoon over most of the area.

FRIDAY FEATURE
The North Atlantic Oscillation

This North Atlantic feature is highly influential on our DC weather. You might think otherwise--since our weather is unbelieveably influenced by semi-permanent weather features over Iceland & Northern Africa. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, to be continued next week...

Snow Lover's Crystal Ball

Next Chance of Snow:Saturday Afternoon
Probability: 15%
Potential Impact:
Commentary: High Pressure in Quebec may dam cold air into our region so that snow flakes fall before precip ends prior to evening festivities.
