Forecast: Afternoon Thundershowers
Mild
54-59 degree low temperatures probably won't feel too cool to you this morning, but rain is on its way later. You'd better
grab the umbrella or at least a light rain jacket. Overcast skies this morning gives way to showers and isolated mid-afternoon thunderstorms as we struggle to hit
70 degrees. Points south of DC will be the most likely break above 70.
Tonight, persistent clouds & showers will keep low temperatures in the
mid-50s to the low-50s in places like Garrett & Caroline County. Two things will be persistent: southeasterly winds & moderate mugginess. Our socked-in situation won't improve fast, but at least it will be mild.
Georgetown "Riggs Dome" captured yesterday by Kevin AmbroseTHE WEEKEND: Saturday & Sunday
Saturday skies should remain overcast with a few morning breaks, perhaps. Showers will make themselves known by midday, but watch for arriving--by early afternoon and continuing into the night--
thunderstorms. There is an 80% chance of showers and possibly thundershowers by evening with
highs in the mid 60s. Make sure your raincoat breathes well... relative humidity will be high.
Sunday we will finally clear out! Northerly winds will dry us out, we will see the sun, and reach a springtime quintessential:
72 degrees. Metro-south may reach the mid-70s. But, any way you cut it, GORGEOUS post-frontal clearing ushers in the day near the crisper-feeling
50 degree mark.
