I awoke at 4:45 this morning to go on a sunrise shoot because I really expected a good sunrise. The air last night was dry with good visibility while a system to the west was spinning high and mid-level clouds over our area. Meanwhile, the precipitation and low cloud cover seemed far enough away so they would not move overhead in the morning and spoil the sunrise. In addition, at this time of year the sun aligns with the monuments. It was one of the best weather scenarios I've seen in a while for a good DC sunrise. Ultimately, I was not disappointed.
