Stubborn clouds slow to depart

Jason Samenow @ 8:53 AM

Conditions over the weekend will gradually improve from west to east. Today will be fairly nice for some (more to the west) but somewhat bleak for others (nearby and east). Tomorrow, everyone should be happy...

Today

Forecast Confidence: MediumPersistent clouds? Slight shower risk? Any sun? The answers to these three questions are yes, yes, and maybe. A stubborn upper low will be slow to spin off the Mid Atlantic coast today. As a result it should remain mostly cloudy, and a shower cannot be ruled out especially east of DC. From DC and points west, some sunshine could emerge during the afternoon -- especially late. High temperature should be in the mid 70s.

Tonight, we'll see gradual clearing and comfortable conditions, with lows 55-60 (suburbs to city).

Tomorrow

Forecast Confidence: HighBeautiful. Weak high pressure will finally allow the sunshine to return. High temperatures should be near 80, with light southerly winds.
