Warm weekend to end with a bang?

Summer will make a brief come back this weekend -- with warm and increasingly humid conditions. At its conclusion Sunday afternoon or evening, showers and thunderstorms are likely.
Very warm. A warm front will pass through the area early in the morning, setting the stage for a summery afternoon. Considerable cloudiness in the morning should give way to a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon, with highs in the low 80s. Overnight, it will be muggy, with lows near 70.
Strong storms late? A powerful cold front will move through the area early in the evening setting the stage for showers and possibly severe storms. Prior to its passage, it will be warm and humid under partly sunny skies -- with highs in the low to mid 80s.
