The first full week of fall will feel like it in our Nation's Capital. Generally speaking, high temperatures will be 70-75 with lows near 50. Dry conditions will prevail save a period of showers late Thursday into early Friday and possibly late Sunday.
Today
Partly cloudy, cooler. It will become cooler and less humid in the wake of the front that passed last night. Expect a mix of clouds and sun, with highs in the low 70s. Overnight, it will be clear and refreshing, with lows from 44-52 (suburbs-city).

Mostly sunny, comfortable. Weak high pressure will settle in over the area. Expect plenty of sunshine, but slightly cooler than average temperatures -- with highs again in the low 70s. The night time hours will be chilly, with lows 43-50 (suburbs-city).
Wednesday
Pleasant. Cool high pressure will remain overhead, resulting in continued sunshine and agreeable temperatures. Expect highs of 71-75. Overnight, it should be clear and crisp, with lows 47-55 (suburbs to city).
Thursday
Increasing clouds, mild. A cold front will approach from the west. Ahead of it, winds will become southerly tapping some warmer air. Accordingly, highs should range from 74-78 -- with more clouds than sun. Late in the day and especially during the overnight hours, there could be a few showers or thunderstorms.
Friday
Gradual clearing, quite cool. After a slight chance of a morning shower, it should become partly cloudy with unseasonably cool temperature in the front's wake. Look for highs only the mid 60s with a moderate northwest breeze. Overnight, skies should clear and winds should calm -- with low temperatures 40-47 (suburbs to city).
The Weekend
Fall-like, mostly dry. Cool high pressure should be centered over the area Saturday, with high temperatures 65-70 and lows 40-50 (suburbs to city). Sunday, the high will likely move offshore, with winds become southerly allowing temperatures to rise into the 70s. A late day shower can not be ruled out as another cold front approaches from the west (but not likely).
