Today


Forecast Confidence: HighMostly cloudy, cool -- scattered morning light rain. A strong high pressure system centered to our northwest will direct cool northeasterly flow over the area. A bit of light rain is possible, particulary north of DC and in the morning. Expect more clouds than sun, with highs in the low 70s. Overnight, we'll have a few clouds, with lows 55-60 (city to suburbs).

Forecast Confidence: HighFall-like coolness, but pleasant. We'll continue to experience cool east, to northeasterly flow. Skies should remain mostly cloudy, with highs in the low 70s. Overnight, look for partly cloudy skies with lows 55-60 (suburbs to city).

Wednesday


Forecast Confidence: Medium-HighThickening clouds, PM rain? A front will gradually approach from the west. Some light rain is possible by late in the afternoon or during the evening with highs 70-75. Overnight, rain is likely, with lows near 60.

Thursday


Forecast Confidence: Medium-HighLight rain, especially during the morning The front and its associated wave should move through the area during the morning. Clearing behind the front may be slow, although it's not out of the question the skies brighten sometime during the afternoon. High temperatures should be in the low to mid 70s. Overnight, skies should clear, with lows 55-60 (suburbs-city).

Friday


Forecast Confidence: Medium-HighBecoming sunny, very nice. High pressure should begin building in from the west, resulting in a generally warm, mostly sunny day. A high near 80 is possible. Overnight, it should be clear, with lows 55-60 (suburbs to city).

The Weekend


Forecast Confidence: Medium-HighMostly sunny and warm. Weak high pressure should be overhead for most of the weekend resulting in generally light winds and seasonably warm temperatures. Highs will likely be in the low 80s Saturday, and perhaps the mid 80s by Sunday. Saturday night's low temperature should range from the mid to upper 50s in the suburbs, to the low 60s downtown.
