Weekend Warm-up

Cold weather haters rejoice! Over the weekend we'll transition from a cold pattern to one which is much milder. And the mild conditions will be here to stay awhile...
Cold air begins to retreat. Still brisk. After a cold start near 20 degrees, temperatures will steadily warm. While you may need a heavy parka when you get up and head-out, a warm-up jacket is probably all you'll need by afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the low to mid 40s. Overnight, we'll have clear skies with lows 19-25 (suburbs to city).
Much milder. Despite a chilly start, temperatures will warm consirably by afternoon. The moderating airmass coupled with abundant sunshine will allow temperatures to reach the mid 50s.

- Just days after the 2006 Atlantic hurricane season has ended and been declared a bust for forecasters, the first forecasts for 2007 have been issued. Tropical Storm Risk (a private UK forecasting company) predicts above average activity as does Colorado State University (as mentioned in Steve's PM Update yesterday).
