The first full weekend of May won't be great for basking in warm sunshine. Today, despite a nice start, clouds will fill the sky by the afternoon, with rain showers chances increasing towards dark. Tomorrow, while the sun will shine, the wind will blow and blow hard, with gusts over 30mph. And both days, temperatures will struggle to get out of the 60s.
Today
Great start, damp finish? Through at least 2 or 3pm today, the weather looks good. Considerable sunshine early in the day will be filtered by high clouds streaming in during the late morning and early afternoon. Clouds will likely lower and thicken during the mid afternoon, with a 30% chance of rain by late afternoon and early evening as a wave in the atmosphere ripples through. South and west of DC, rain chances during the mid to late afternoon hours are higher (around 50%). High temperatures should range from 65-70. Overnight, there's a good chance of rain through 1am or so (60% chance) before gradual clearing late at night. Low temperatures should range from 42-47 (suburbs-city).
Tomorrow
Mostly sunny, windy and cool. Strong, cool high pressure will build in from the north. At the same time, low pressure will develop off the southeast coast. The resulting difference in pressure will make for a windy day. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with highs only in the low 60s, with a north wind of 15-25mph and gusty.
