Surprisingly Non-Scary Halloween Weather
Cooler Again by Friday into the Weekend

Josh Larson @ 12:15 AM

Despite the fact that the "average" high temperature on Halloween in Washington, DC is 63, four of the five most recent Halloweens have seen high temperatures at or above 70; it looks likely that we'll continue that trend this time around as well, with pleasant, dry weather. Cooler (but still dry) weather is on the way for Friday and the weekend, though.

Happy Halloween from the entire CapitalWeather.com team!

Today

Nice Day StampBoo! There'll be nothing remotely scary about the weather today, unless you consider mild conditions on the last day of October to be spooky. We'll look for afternoon highs, under abundant sunshine, right around 70. Perfect Trick-or-Treating weather is on tap with clear skies and temperatures dropping from around 65 at 7pm to the upper 50s by late evening. Overnight lows will eventually drop into the upper 40s to low 50s.

Thursday

Confidence: HighWarm Intro to November We'll open the month of November with continued mild, dry weather. Mostly sunny skies will allow for afternoon high temperatures to near 70 degrees once again. Clear and turning cooler overnight, with overnight lows ranging from the upper 30s to the mid 40s downtown.

Friday

Confidence: HighCooler. Behind the passage of a cold front during the second half of the day Thursday, temperatures will be noticeably crisper on Friday, with mostly sunny skies and highs ranging from the mid to upper 50s. Clear and cold Friday night, with lows from the low 30s to near 40 downtown.

The Weekend

Confidence: HighQuite Pleasant. Both Saturday and Sunday will continue the trend of mostly sunny and dry weather. Afternoon highs both days will be within a few degrees of 60, while overnight lows will predominately range from the mid 30s over the coolest suburbs to the low 40s downtown.
