Clipper Clicks: Original Storm Photography

Team Forecast @ 11:15 AM

CapitalWeather.com's talented photographers Kevin Ambrose and Ian Livingston captured some beautiful snowfall images yesterday. Enjoy...

Above photograph by Kevin Ambrose. In Kevin's own words:
This is a close up of the Capitol Christmas Tree, just after the crowd moved to the reception at the Botanical Gardens. [Last night] was the official lighting ceremony and as the crowd dispersed the sky opened with very heavy, fluffy snow. The photo does not give justice to the amount of snow falling. If my umbrella moved for a second off of my camera, it was instantly coated with snow.

Above photograph by Kevin Ambrose. This photo was actually not taken last night, but two years ago to the date (December 5, 2005) -- also after the official tree lighting and also in snow (though not as heavy). History repeated itself, and Kevin beautifully captured both moments. Do you like Kevin's work? If so, be sure to purchase one of his 2008 calendars available at washingtonprints.com.

Above photograph by Ian Livingston. This photo was taken at 1pm outside the White House when snow was just beginning to accumulate on grassy areas downtown.
