Patchy Light Mixed Precipitation Possible Overnight

Jason Samenow @ 11:33 PM

As of 11pm, some light mixed precipitation was falling in portions of the metro area with some areas reporting light snow, sleet and/or rain. Overnight into tomorrow morning, some very light and patchy mixed precipitation may continue (40% chance), with greater coverage north and west of Washington. Temperatures will likely slowly fall from the mid to upper 30s to the low to mid 30s (suburbs to city).

Given the light intensity of the precipitation, a relatively warm ground and temperatures at or above freezing, the impact of any mixed precipitation will be low. Roads should remain just wet in most areas (except well north and west of Washington towards Frederick and north to the Mason Dixon line).

Spotty mixed precipitation will continue in spurts in the morning, gradually changing to all rain. Amounts will be very light, and precipitation coverage will be sparse until later tomorrow afternoon and evening when steady rain moves in.
